A lot of us out there are missing our favourite musicals at the moment. The feeling of sitting down in a cosy theatre ready to watch some wonderful, live performance is something that’s irreplaceable. However, there are some things that we can do at home, to continue to celebrate our love of musical theatre.
Over the next couple of weeks, Ben and I are going to explore ways in which we can enjoy musical theatre, and musical theatre life, at home. We’ve already mentioned how Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musicals will become available on YouTube, but there’s so much more than just being able to view musicals at home.
One way that you can enjoy your favourite musicals is actually by working out to them. We all know that keeping fit and healthy is pretty important, especially when we’re unable to move around as much as we could before, so we really should be working out from home if possible. However, there’s no reason why you can’t make your workout a fun and exciting part of your day.
Joseph Corella is a Broadway performer, choreographer, dance teacher and fitness instructor. He founded 567Broadway, which essentially offer workouts to your favourite Broadway tracks.
You can enjoy the workout via digital download or DVD. It’s a dance fitness experience which mixes Broadway and all it’s magic with cardio and strength training. It’s a great workout. The songs are real feel good tunes including You Can’t Stop The Beat from Hairspray and Hand Jive from Grease.
Joseph also offers dance tutorials on YouTube for you to learn. Again, the songs are real feel-good, workout tunes from your favourite musicals. All abilities are welcome.
Give it a go, and be a stage-worthy star from your very own living room!
